Do late beetroots need to be spaced further apart than the earlier ones?

space the the same anton unless you want big beets,one sowing of a couple of packets in april does me all summer(what summer) long and the last ones to come out in september/october can be kept over winter in a box of sand
feed the soil not the plants
organicish

Thanks, Shaun. That confirmed what I was thinking. My book says to use wider spacings but I couldn't really see the point.
