Title: potato identification
Post by: philmay on April 30, 2007, 17:59
  Planted Charlotte and Pentland Javelin spuds in May, and only used a pencil to write on the labels. Now I can't remember whats what, and the writing has come off. One set of spuds is a fair bit bigger than the other. Any idea as to which spud would grow the fastest? so I can tell what they are.

Charlotte is a 2nd early, Pentland Javelin is an early.

So, under the same conditions, I'd expect the PJ to be larger.

Thanks WG, both planted at the same time, in the same manured bed, and both watered the same. So I guess that it's safe to assume the bigger plants are Javelins.
