can chickens have bid seed and fat balls hung up for them to peck at???
-
Don't know about bird seed, but defo not fat balls. Fat is bad for them.

ok thank you grannie annie, is there anything i can hang in them for them to peck at please?

When I didn't have so many chickens, we used to hang up cabbages for them, and my brussle sprout stalks if the sprouts had opened up. and corn on the cob.
But there is a thing called a peckablock or something that you can get for poultry, helps stop them getting bored, but I've never tried one. Seems a bit expensive, cabbages are cheaper!

Mind you, it looks just like bird seed!

Especially on these warm days you could freeze a block of seed and maybe pop some bits of veg in it. Like Grannieannie says, hanging up veg works ........ a treat!

There's no such thing as a daft question.... if you don't ask you never learn!
My girls are having a lot of fun jumping up to peck at a flowering shrub that hangs over their run. Not sure what it's called but ithas lots of tiny little white petals on each flower. They also run to eat the little petals that have fallen off during the night when \I let them out..
