One of my black chooks flies out of the run every day just after breakfast, and flies back in again in time for bed. She's done it virtually every day for the last month. I saw her early this morning, when I got up in fact, but was a bit worried when I went down to collect the eggs just now and couldnt see her. When I opened up the nesting box, there she was. She'd popped back home to lay her egg rather than lay it outdoors or in the barn where I wouldnt find it.

What a clever thoughtful girl my Cilla (or Miss Black as she used to be called, but Cilla is easier!)is.
By the way, I had a full house of eggs yesterday, 9 hens, 9 eggs. They seem to be on double time at the moment. Egg custard here I come!
