On Monday I finally got my run,nest boxes and perches finished :D.
I'd just put the finishing touches to the door in the run when my friend came in 'I'll box up those 2 cockerels for you in the morning,you can fatten them up to eat' he said.
I told him I didn't have any food yet but he said 'I'll bring some'.
Ok.....All was well ::)
The next morning when I went up to the allotment and looked in the run,4 cockerels were looking back :blink: 3 from him and 1 from another friend who obviously thought it was better off with me than him. :blink:
My plan was to have 6 hens maximum and a couple of meat birds every now and again.
I've got 4 birds already and guess what ?........................Not 1 single egg!
:wacko:

:lol:
Do you think they saw you coming Judd?!!
Don't forget we like to see photos of your setup and livestock. :D

Oh dear :lol:
I'd have a word as you don't want more and more cockerels appearing, but I guess it is 4 chicken dinners at the very least. They should be fine as a batchelor group, but it does rather knacker your plans to introduce hens, as they will fight like crazy if there are ladies around ::)

Sorry for the late reply but I haven't looked on here or a while :blush:
I'll get a couple of pics and post them.
Anhbuc ,I definitely think they saw me coming.....From a long way off!
New shoot,I'm not going to worry about them fighting when my hens arrive because as you say ,4 chicken dinners :lol: Well chicken pies and a coq au vin ::)

That's the best way to think of it Judd, careful you don't get too attached to them. ;)

Not much chance of that happening Anhbuc,I'm not the sentimental type ;)
