Hi everyone
I have to go away on a family matters and there is no one to look after my girls so I have to take them with me.
I've had a coop delivered to my mothers home.
How will they cope with the change?

how long is the Drive?

they should be fine just make sure they have water and dont get over heated and when you get them to thier new home keep them in the coop for 24 hours just like you would if your buy new hens.

Hens seem to cope well traviling. When hubby and I go to Auctions we travel a long distance up to two hours away and they are fine if not a bit shell shocked by the whole ordeal.

they will cope fine although egg production may suffer for a short time but will soon rectify itself. I have chickens here that have travelled from the Scottish borders and from kent and all have faired very well

. As has been said if it is a long journey then stop to give them a drink (take some anyway just incase you get stuck in traffic).
