seed companies
« on: August 17, 2012, 19:47 »
My first year this year and I have been heavily relying on / using Marshalls mainly for seeds and seed potatoes onion setts and garlic  and some plants.  I have been amazed by my results this year considering the weather.  Who else uses Marshalls are they the best, should I try elsewhere?

I haven't used Marshalls, but this is often discussed under the title of seed suppliers. :)

As alternatives I use:

Plants of Distinction
http://www.plantsofdistinction.co.uk/

They have or had some different items, I liked the Currant Tomatoes.

And
Moreveg
http://www.moreveg.co.uk/

They do seeds in smaller amounts, possibly better for a garden and not for an allotment therefore.

Two companies who dont seem to be mentioned on either list are

Suttons http://www.suttons.co.uk/

and

Tuckers http://www.tuckers-seeds.com/

I use both, and have never had an issue with either, Tuckers also having a shop close to me has the bonus of nipping in!
They do all their seeds in resealable plastic bags, which I like more than the foil ones (OK foil keeps them fresher, but plastic bags are re-usable!
Very often quite lost- would be more lost if I could work out where I was!- But always find my way home.....
