I've just taken delivery of some new bare root strawberry plants (variety Buddy) and will not get a chance to plant them out until the weekend at least.

They are currently stored in a dark frost free garage in the plastic bag they were delivered in. I've checked the roots and they are still damp. Is it ok to keep them like this until I can get them in or should I be doing something else?

If it is a sealed bag I'd make some holes in it so the plants can breathe or they'll go mouldy - even if it means you have to add a little water to the roots in a few days time

If you think it may be longer than this weekend, stick them in a pot and bring them into the light. They are very hardy and don't have to be frost free.
