I too lost 3 birds one might/morning to a fox. Used the same run for 7 years without a problem, but this year has made me reconsider security.
The fence is 8 feet weld mesh along the whole back and runs down to about 5.5 feet at the front.
I am raising the front with extra panels another 20 inches so will finish at just over 7 foot high.
Also making up some panels 90 inches by 36 inches ( 8 panels) and these will form a roof.
Just using 50mmx50mm chickenwire for all the new sections, thinking this will be tricky for a fox to walk on if it gets on the top.
The birds usually get put away for the night, but some nights I am just not up to getting them away and out they have stayed. Everytime but this last instance with no consequence.
Its a rural location and plenty of other food sources for a fox.
