I thought Weather in the SE this Summer
« on: September 01, 2021, 10:21 »
had been unusually grey and cool, but this on the Netweather forum - has confirmed that!

Quote
Spring & Summer 2021 summed up for us in the South East/London area-
Number of days over 6 hours sunshine according to Heathrow.
May 8th- 29th (4 out of 22)
June 17th- July 13th (2 out of 27)
July 24th- August 30th (4 out of 38)
A very sunny grand total of only 10 out of 87 days that consisted of 6 hours or more of sunshine.
No wonder my S.A.D. has kicked in early this year pffft :(

Nope. It's not autumn yet to me as I haven't got that sense of it or the feel in the air.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Yes the SE has had very poor weather throughout the extended summer so far (May to September). The first half of June was quite decent, and there was the week of hot weather in the middle of July, but the rest has been an endurance event. I don't think I can recall a summer where I have had to have the lights on all day so many times. August has (again) been a letdown, very dull and virtually no very warm weather, the dullness extending across much of the UK. The blocking high sat over the UK in the last week of the month advecting North Sea clag over most of the country was the final poke in the eye from this so called summer. On top of the weather related allotment failures and the constant COVID doom and gloom, this is one year I will be very glad to see the back of.

You know it's autumn because the fuel companies make all sorts of offers before they hike their prices!

While we're paying huge amounts for 'green' electricity (see elsewhere), how can such huge price increases apply to coal..;0)?

This isn't true:

If you are paying "huge amount", either switch to a more competitive supplier, or analyse at your energy consumption.

Just check the real commercial rates, 'green' doesn't figure.
