A non day. Breezy, kept going dark as if we were going to get a shower but nothing happened.  The weather we were forecast, as in showers,  hasn't happened.

If I were in the UK, I'd be monitoring where that storm is headed next. Most likely impact would be more wind, rain, and surf along the coast, though not at hurricane intensity.

Most often our weather in the west of the UK comes in from the Atlantic. I can usually get a good feel for what's due by looking at current weather in Dublin - roughly 130Km away across the the sea.
Currently it looks to be a pleasant, dry day ahead

The apocalyptic rainfall forecast for today, complete with a yellow Met Office warning, headed north east and not for the first time largely passed us by here (total 2.0mm!  )

I've been East Wight today and it rained until midday, Paul's been West Wight and apart from being a bit cloudy there was no rain. This afternoon was quite bright.

First thing this morning it was grey, damp and cool - the sun has just broken through So fingers crossed the washing will dry, and I'll be able to cut the lawn

I can't believe this is Cumbria. Desperately dry. Lawns are brown, leeks are looking weak and I'll water tonight, Runner and French beans are over after a prolific (watering-assisted) crop. I've lived in Cumbria for 50 years and never known such a dry spring, summer and early autumn

I managed to get the washing in before a short sharp shower, didn't get the 'lawn' cut boo hoo!
