Just picked up four 75L bags of Clover peat based compost for £28. Not repeating my mistake of using the Lidl peat free this year which was awful stuff, full of rubbish, dirty and many plants just didn’t grow in it and had to be repotted. Everything is more than happy with this stuff. Might have to stockpile some for future years until the peat free stuff becomes reliable.
One was a couple of inches tall before I sliced it with the hoe , tasted good though. Hoping the warmer weather this week should have it producing strongly by weeks end. You’d hope so anyway in the first week of May.

I am going to try Alderman as a later sown crop to avoid moth has anyone an idea when to sow i was thinking mid May I read that moth is about between June and July.
