My ducklings are growing fast.  I have them in a big old drawer at night and out in a run during the day weather permitting.  They make a right old mess of the drawer with water, food and droppings.  I know they need warmth but any ideas of a better housing for them for indoors.

When can they go outside in a hutch at night, would it be ok in a garage, that is out of the wind and lined with hay would be quite warm.

Any other duckling breeder out there who can help me please

You can use infra-red lamps to keep them warm at nights.  I seem to remember we had a 250W bulb suspended above them.  It was a long time ago & I forget the details.

I have abulb but its the general housing till they are old enough to go outdoors I would like to know about please

I can't see any problems with the garage providing they are warm.  gradually turn down the heat week by week, then put them outside once without artificial heat for a while.

We used a big cardboard box but almost anything will do.

Any outdoor building that provides shelter will do. Garage, Shed etc provided they are draught proof. Give them a heater and they will be fine.
