made some aparant blackberry jam the other day, unfortunately its set so thick it wont really spread.
could i make it into a toffee of sorts?
or has anyone got any suggestions to rescue said jam.
would be such a waste to throw it out.
it doesnt taste burnt, just fruity, left it on hob too long, busy gas bagging AGAIN!!!

If you can get it out of the jars, you could try adding some water and re-heating! Just remember to wash and re-sterilise the jars.

I find blackberries naturally thicken up a lot. We make blackberry coulis by heating BB with water (no sugar), and it can get pretty sticky.
Have to adjust recipe for the fruit you're using.
Try adding small amount of water, but dont boil too much.

When you make an apple pie put blobs of it on top of the apples before you add the pastry lid.
