Has anyone used these for a path? I have a source of old ones and was wondering if I could use them on the plot for this.

I used them once for the paths down the sides of raspberry canes.  My idea was to stop the runners spreading and keep weeds down.
Well, leaves and things rotted on the top and weeds germinated in it and the roots went down into the soil.  As the carpet tiles rotted the raspberry suckers came up through  and held them hard down on the soil.  They were the devil to get up and i've never used carpet of any sort on the plot again. >:(

Your situation might be different but i thought they made work rather that save it.

Along similar lines the carpet squares which you often see in store - approx 1 meter square - work well on the top of the compost bin. I certainly wouldn't use them to walk on. They usually let you have them for a donation - loose change normally covers it.
we also rescue rabbits and guinea pigs, grow own veg
