[Acuario]

My poor cockerel isn't well. He's less than a year old and earlier in the year was very happy and active. I don't know what is up with him but his symptoms are:
 
- he seems unsteady on his feet
- his crest isn't very red - more a sort of rose colour
- he doesn't seem very interested in eating much
- he goes to roost really early
- he has stopped crowing
- he keeps ruffling his feathers
 
The hens all seem absolutely fine - still laying eggs, arguing and so on like hens do.

I live in Spain so at the moment it's hot here - about 36 degrees during the day. The chickens do have shade, pleanty of fresh water etc. 
 
Anyone any ideas?

Heat stroke?   I have a very large Brahma sat next to me right now got overly hot and can't stand up now without wobbling like a drunken sailor. Never had this problem before so I'm unsure of the outcome, sorry I couldn't be any more help.

Just to add, my big brahma boy is up and chasing the girls, really didn't think he was going to make it.

Never seen such a seemingly ill bird recover so well and so quickly. He spent two days indoors with a fan on unable to stand, fed water via a syringe with added dioralyte day three he was crowing and he went back out and chased one of the other cockerels halfway around the garden. Fit as a fiddle.

So if you get a bird with heatstroke it may not be as bad as it looks!
