Runner Beans

Hi All,

I have heard that you shouldn't grow runner beans of differnt variaties to close together because of cross pollination, can anyone advise me on this please as last year I grew purple runners and green side by side and did notice a few of both vars were deformed ( twisted) and dont know wether this is from cross pollination or just naturally occers.

Don`t worry about it Silkworm, I`d be interested to know the RESULTS of any cross pollination.

Im sure they all tasted the same

Id only worry about that sort of thing if you're saving seeds to grow on.

Cross pollination would not have made any difference to the pods but if you saved the seed for sowing this years crop might show charateristics of both parents.
