Title: sweetcorn relish
Post by: tetley on August 19, 2006, 21:10
can anyone help me with a recipe for sweetcorn relish?  i have tried googling and have made one recipe i found on a bbc site, but it wasn't what i had in mind......
as i am living over the channel i cannot easily get the odd bits and pieces that i miss, so have to improvise and have a go myself...which is fine most of the time, BUT, the thing i miss most when having a barbecue is the sweet gooey sweetcorn relish i used to get in the supermarket.  i have lots of sweetcorn and would love to be able to make this relish....is there anyone who can help me?....PLEASE!   the one i made was quite dry and vinegary, whereas the jar stuff was thick and sweet (and no doubt full of nasty things), but if i could just get close it would satisfy!

My son lives in Australia and love his Sweetcorn relish too and his Mr's tried to make some but it wasn't the same apparently so he gets a regular fix from here http://www.britsuperstore.com/acatalog/Bicks_Relish.html

Hope this helps.
