green manure?

Hi all, i just usually leave my beds over winter but thought id give green manure a try this year. Im off to B&Q later and was going to try and pick some up there, although havent got a clue what to buy.Does the pack say green manure?
I have never done this before so can someone please explain best seeds to use, ehen to dig in ect. :) :)
Also is this really worth doing?

I think B&Q stock Suttons seeds so they may have some of this in stock if you are lucky:

I like green manure as a way of keeping beds under control when not in use. This pack explains their use but says should be sown September. You may get away with it as it's been reasonably warm in Suffolk of late!

There are loads of different types of green manure. The Suttons one is a mix but if you want it for a specific purpose or have a particular type of ground take a look here to work out which would be best:

That link also lists some for later sowing. I usually order mine over the internet. There are loads of differnet suppliers and a bit of googling should get you what you want!
