Push or Pull?

Simple question, with the little tillers do you push or pull, the only reason I ask is I have always pushed as this the way the blades go, forward, but of course that means me foot prints are left behind me, now a neighbour leaves no prints so I can only assume he pulls.

walk behind (push) but he possibly has offset handle bars. You will need to rake any how, and roll if you have one so a few foot prints are not worth worrying about
always have a target
and an objective.

Don't you walk backwards though with a mantis tiller ? so no footprints.
