Hello!

I've got two Blue Banana Squash on my plot.  Both have set fruit and I have one that is about 30cm- 40cm long.  However, I have no idea when I am supposed to pick it!  Here is a pic. Any ideas?  They were some seeds from a friend and I do not have any instructions.

I would have thought you harvest them as you would any other squash, but they are very pretty!

As it is one you can keep, I would guess when the skin has hardened a bit, and is the pale blue colour of a ripe one.

I grew the Jumbo pink banana last year (it turned out yellow more than pink).  I harvested one early on because I wanted to eat it!  The others I left on the plant until the leaves died back in mid autumn, as I wanted to store them and you need the skin to harden up as sunshineband says.

I grew Jumbo Pink banana a few years ago and mine grew 19" long    I'd leave your blue one to grow on a bit as there's time yet for it to grow still more and for it to get ripe
