Title: chicken swollen abdomen

ive got a hen with swollen abdomen can hardly walk the comb is floppy and purple on the end can anyone help?

I have just come back from taking my chook to the vet with a swollen tummy and it was peritonitis.

I would suggest you go and see a vet.

The swelling is fluid probably caused by a condition called Egg Yolk Peritonitis (EYP) and the prognosis is usually bad unless it gets treated quickly with an antibiotic injection only your vet can administer.  It's as a result of egg binding or your chicken being what's called an internal layer where the egg doesn't enter the oviduct but falls into the body cavity and sets up an internal infection which can quickly prove fatal.
