Chickens fussy about food colours?

Mine usually fall on any form of greenery like ravening beasties.  I brought them green kale that was bolting from the plot this morning and they decimated it in minutes.  I have red kale at home, so picked some leaves for them this afternoon - they looked at me like I was mad    

Tried breaking a few bits of and throwing it to them, a couple tried it then made a dash for the rest.  All the others practially curled their beaks at me and gave me such evil looks I'm still laughing about it  

Do other people's hens have similar colour prejudices about their food or are mine just particularly dumb to not recognise kale if its not green

Ours don't like Parsnips not even a little bit hahahaha, they go mad for brussels and cabbage.

Mine go nuts for red or green grapes.  They do like some red things like strawberries and tomatoes but aren't fussed about raspberries    They only get the slightly squished or slug nibbled ones I pick, but it causes mayhem when treats like that are on offer 

Makes perfick sense to a chicken I'm sure 

Update on this.  Chucked a couple of bolted red kale plants into the run complete with stalks and roots and they dived on them  :blink:  Leaves on their own - must be an evil plot to poison them, ignore at all costs.  Whole plant - attack and eat in seconds
