Hi Guys.  My sweet bell pepper plants have almost finished fruiting and I wondered if it was safe to give the plants to the chickens to eat. 

I can't find any mention of them being poisonous to them but they are part of the potato/tomato family. 

They'll go on the compost heap otherwise but seems a shame to not let the girls have some fun eating all the leaves first. 

Does anyone have any ideas?   All thoughts appreciated.

Hi birdmancats, my hens toook a liking to our pepper plants lower leaves when we let them out to freerange, i put the plants into the run when we harvested the peppers 2 weeks ago and they're all still with us !

Slugs certainly need to like the seedling ( I lost ALL mine to slugs  )  And no dead slugs around.
No guarantee but.............
