hi there Ive got 2 rose questions , firstly what is the difference between polyantha roses , and the other types , i know poly means many and there's the hybrid tee roses and forgot the name of the other , and secondly the roses Ive bought have green wax on them do i leave it on or scrape it off , i usually buy ones that don't have the green stuff on but in lidl i got 4 new ones all with the green wax on .

The polyantha roses usually have more flowers but they are not as big as the hybrid teas or as double. I've left the wax on mine it's just to stop them getting too dry in storage i think. The buds break through it and grow away as normal..well mine did

Yep leave the wax on, it protects the cut as well.

ok then just didnt relish the idear of scraping it all off
i got 3 lovley red ones and one mauve but i dont know if they smell or not will just have to be patient

If you know the plant names and you have access to library books, you can look them up and find out everything about them, including scent if any.

there are never any names on the roses so we just give them names our selves
we bought an apple tree once and on the pic it showed a golden delicious which was what we wanted it turned out to be a Greek type tree and the apples are huge you could make a whole pie out of one apple .
