WHEELIE BINS AS A WATER BUTT

Is anyone on this site using a wheelie bin as a water butt and did you take the wheels off it first?? Does it work ?

Yes. One the wheels came off, the others I just left them on. I've linked them together with a siphon.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Yep they work fine and being flat sided easy to put a tap on. I left the wheels but put it up on a pallet to get the can under

I've got 2. They don't collect water very well, wrong shape. I've also got 2 ex loft water tanks, they are better for collecting rain water but don't hold as much

Best bet is use them as you would an ordinary water but divert a guttering into it off a shed or greenhouse

I used to work in a helium gas factory, but I walked out, no one talks to me like that.

If you do not have a lid then pour a thin layer of cooking oil on top mossie's do not like oil.
If it rots compost it
If it burns burn it
If it is chocolate eat it
