Compact gooseberry bush
« on: March 23, 2021, 20:24 »
I'm looking for a compact gooseberry bush.  I don't eat them so it's just for my husband and we have limited space.  Can anybody recommend something.  Looking for about 20in.  Think I am dreaming though.

I think your best bet would be a cordon or standard.

A cordon is trained to be a single stem with small side shoots, so will need supporting.  A standard is shaped like a small tree, so you will need to stake it.

Both are more expensive to buy, but if space is really short, it could be a worthwhile investment.

Thank you for that.  The corden would be ideal for my space.
