Plant ID No2
« on: January 23, 2015, 11:10 »
Hi folks,

Another lovely sunny, frosty morning here. Hope it's as nice where you are  :)

Another plant for you to apply your collective wisdom to.

My best guess so far is Spiraea japonica 'Gold Mound' but any other suggestions for research most appreciated.

First picture taken mid July - there are two yellow bushes lower left quarter of the pic.

Second and third pics taken mid November, the first of these with flash, sorry.

There are a couple more bushes in the garden so I don't know if it self-seeds. Plants are now completely brown but still with good structure. Plants are roughly 3ft high.

Cheers!

I think you are correct with it being a Spirea. My daughter has several in her garden and they are just like skinny brown twigs right now too.

They come back well once the weather warms up  :D

Thanks sunshineband. I think I can give it a bit of a haircut next month ready for its spring growth.

I agree with Spirea too.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.
