Help!!

Ive just gone to Gut/dress a chicken that i  hung in the shed for 24hours and DAMN thats a Stinky job...Are the guts supposed to Hum like that?

I have been doing my own meat birds for quite a while now, but i have always Culled, Plucked and gutted within a few hours of culling. This is the First time ive Hung a chook for 24 hours, and im worried that it might be gone off, Or am i worrying for nothing? Is it Supposed to Be what i can only describe as DAMN Shoooweee Stinkin LOL

it will be fine as long as it was kept hung in a cool place. The weather has been very hot lately so if it was not cool then maybe.

I have always gutted mine after 24 hours and yes they really really smell. My kids have the nack of coming into the kitchen just at the smelliest point.

I asked the samequestion of GA when i started doing my own meat hens.

Did the same a few years ago and STILL remember how bad the smell was

Take my word for it they are nowhere near as stinky to do as rabbits .
