Title: Mould on elderflower cordial
Post by: Chris D on June 18, 2011, 16:55
Hi,

Sorry I am new to this but need some help from those that know!

I recently made some elderflower cordial as instructed and bottled it but 2 weeks later there is white mould starting to appear in the cordial and it is going a bit cloudy.

Is it safe to drink or have I done something wrong?

I see no-one knows the answer (yet)  :(

I'll leave your post in here for another day or so, and then try the Homebrew forum for you  :)

can you open a bottle and see if it smells yeasty it may be the case that the natrel yeasts on the flower have started to ferment if this has happened and its in bottles be very carefull as the co2 produced will mean the bottles could explode if the pressure isnt relesed
