Coldframe Lights Material

Does it matter what you use as a coldframe light? Is the heavier the better i.e. double glazed glass panels  :tongue2: Or will a single/double layer of perspex suffice? I have a wooden base to use.

Use anything to hand - old window, bit of perspex. It doesn't reallly matter. Just make sure any glass is secured - hinge, brick etc, to stop it blowing off and breaking.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

if you're going for twin wall polycarbonate sheeting, the translucent stuff from Wickes used to cost a fraction of what they charged for the clear stuff.

Better still, keep an eye out on freecycle for carports and conservatories being dismantled.
