Winter spinach?

Anyone tried winter spinach in a polytunnel? If so, how did it do and when did you sow it?

Joy Larkcom' GYO says sow ordinary spinach in September/October - plants will stop growing in the coldest months of the year, but start again fairly quickly - fleece may help, but I've never bothered with it.
I usually grow perpetual spinach which I find a lttle hardier ;)

I sow spinach Bordeaux outside on the plot in September and it sails through the winter.  I cover mine with Enviromesh to keep the peskies off it and to keep the leaves clean of mud splash. It withstood all the snow last winter  :)
