Title: Copper Banding
Post by: mrs bouquet on October 12, 2020, 14:58
I am thinking of trying some hostas again in containers.  Last time I lost them to the slugs/snails.   I found some plants that are supposed to not attract these beasties.   But also wonder if any of you have tried copper banding that goes around the pots.   I already use fine gravel and broken egg shell.    If you can help, I will be pleased.    Thanks,   Mrs Bouquet

I planted a Hosta in a ceramic pot about 8yrs ago and put some adhesive backed copper tape (left over from Dolls house electrical project so not very wide) around the pot just below the rim. To date haven't had any problem with slugs climbing in to attack the plant :)  :)
