Ok, this time last year I posted about there being wasps all over my potato plants and no one had ever come across this. Yesterday I thought I could see the first signs of blight on the spuds so I went out to remove the tops to burn them. WASPS again all over the lower part of the stems and crawling into the soil!!

Could they be attracted to the blight? Are they building nests, I never found any when I dug up the potatoes last year. What the heck can I use to kill the wasps that won't kill me?

I can't think why wasps would be crawling on the spud stems -- take care when digging though in case they have actually got a nest under the ground.
 If there is a cavity, queens utilise this in spring so the nest could be quite big

Thanks pushrod, I just happen to have the remains of a bottle ginger beer that went flat so I'll make one and hope that they like ginger beer.
