Ive not been around.
« on: April 20, 2011, 19:58 »
Hi everyone. Ive not been on this board for ages, Ive not had much news. Im down to 2 chooks now due to bloomin' foxes, but I am getting a regular 2 eggs per day, just enough for OH and me, although I do have to buy some if I want a bake up!
My really exciting news is that last Wednesday, we went and collected our latest additions to our family. Two male pygmy kids. They are just 3 months old now. They are beautiful, white backs, one has a black/dark brown head and collar, the other more a dark fawn. The darker of the 2 is called Billy (original I know, but it really suits him) and the other one is called Toby after our beloved grandson. Both are pickles (Toby and our grandson), but Billy is a bit more reserved and timid. Im off to the vet tomorrow, to bok them in to have them "done" and to see about jabs, wormers and anything else. They are such pretty boys, and although we have only had them a week, we love them already.

They look cute. We see some pygmy goats on our way to work and they are mixed in with chickens. I look out for them every morning. So cute!!

Welcome back!  Your new lads look wonderful.  I look forward to reading about what they're up to in the future!  So good to see you on here again.   :)
When I die I will slide in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand and chocolate in the other, screaming, "Whooo hooo!  What a ride!" as life is to be enjoyed to the fullest!

Hi NM, we had a pygmy goat when we first moved here, he was lovely, chocolate brown coloured.

You will have to start posting in the pets without feathers forum now!!!!   :D

Thanks all for your warm welcome back messages. The boys are settled now, so the next thing on the horizon is getting the chook house relocated and a proper run constructed to keep them safe and sound. Then it will be up to the breeder to get some more to keep Miss Red and Miss Grey company. I am getting 2 eggs per day from the girls, but I have having to buy supermarket eggs for cooking. Ill be grateful when I only have to walk 20 paces to get my eggs, not 20kms!!!
