I planted out some Rocket at the back end of February this year and its grown a treat in my little veg patch in the garden but when i tasted some the other day it wasn't half bitter, i know rocket has a bit of a peppery flavour but this was just too much. I'm not sure if its something that either i've done wrong or it really is supposed to be that strong, Its was an Unwins brand named Voyager. Any advice would be greatfully recieved.

It may be about to bolt - if you look you might see a central stem thickening up ready to flower, when it does the leaves do taste bitter. Rocket needs repeat sowing after a while, so little & often is best.

Lol, it did have some seed heads but i just picked them out, I still have a lot to learn about this gardening lark. lol. Only my second year.

Try a sowing of rocket early Sept - plants can go all through winter before going to seed.
I was picking a bag full every week from end of Sept til April
