After an email on Saturday evening from Fiona in Dorset to say she had more than expected we had a mad dash to get everything ready for our 3 new girls which we collected on Sunday morning. They seem to love their new house and they are restricted to a 6x3 run at the moment. I had to go and give them a helping hand to go to bed last night. Got home from work today and went to check on them and i could not believe it, 3 eggs

didn't expect any for a while. I sat watching them for about an hour tonight, scratching around and generally having fun, they are quite amusing, and rather scatty at the moment, jumping at strange noises, but they are eating and drinking plenty so fingers crossed they will be happy, just wish i could have taken so many more

we picked up 15 ex batts just over a week ago and i really cant believe how much they have changed in just that short time! after all the research I was expecting quite a challenge introducing them to new foods, getting them to lay in the nest boxes, and knowing how to roost etc, but natural instinct is unbelievably powerful thing.

They are trying all sort of things and are really getting quite brave, investigating new things, as well as getting much stronger. A sprinting half bald chicken is the funniest thing!

I love everyone of our girls to bits they all have their own characters and I just dont know how we every lived without them already! we can spend hours just watching them and they completely de-stress me after a busy day at work!

I hope you enjoy them and watch them blossom into beautiful little ladies
