Mmmm...  Not sure Munty will let us know.

I'm going to let mine out for an hour or so in the snow (to take some pictures).  My girls run is covered so they are fine in there.  I'm no help at all really am I

Well, I've opened the doors to the houses, but only a few are in the run.  most of them are just standing in the doorway looking out!!!  I know Munty is the expert, but I think that like most animals, if they are too cold or too wet, they will seek shelter.

I opened the pop hole and Chalky peeked out but did not come out (usually they all fall over each other coming out).  I did think of leaving it open and letting them decide but it was nice and warm in there with the door closed so I checked their food & water and gave them some oats.

Thanks all, some have ventured out.

I have heard of the stupidity of some chickens and was worried they may go out and make themselves ill.

 Chickens are very clever, mine can hear my stairs creek, and run full tilt to the back door before I get there.  They know which hand I am holding the grape in and they can pick all the goodies out of their food and leave the things they don't like.  It was easier to fool my children

My chickens walked around the snow in the run, wondering what it was!?.  All were happy standing outside until I ushered them in this afternoon to warm the shed up before temperature dropped this evening.  Gave them spaghetti (cooked) and oats - happy as the flowers in May!

We had 12 inches of snow 2 weeks ago and temps at -8c at night and -5 during the day - the ducks and chicks were out except when it actually snowed - the goats watched from their doorway - they are a woosy pair and dont like rain!!
Did not even slow down the egg laying rate
