Broody or not broody that is the question.
« on: June 19, 2010, 15:31 »
I seem to have a few girls that after I have taken the egg out of the nesting box they are returning and sitting there for a while and one of them is really growling at me with her hackles all raised up.

This morning I collected Doris's egg and an hour or so later I went to check for more and there she was happily sitting in the nesting box again. Flo has just done exactly the same too and Gwladys is putting the fear of god in me with her growling

Is there anything I should or shouldn't do as so far I have been taking the eggs (rather gingerly) whether they want me to or not.

Another weird thing is the noises they are now making.
They are making a loud "buck buck buck buuuuuuuuuuuuck" noise Does it mean anything as Gwladys sems to be doing it when there are others in the nesting box and even though there is space for her she won't go in.  ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
