These are the Suttons Jolly Japes marigolds grown from seed.  There may be a bit of Queen Sophia and Red Brocade in amongst them.  Is it wrong of me do you think to Gloat and snigger when family tell me theirs they tried to grow all died. ::)

LOL everyone loves the pots.  Shame haven't seen them for sale anywhere, I got them at a garden show it was a help yourself to these pots thing, from a plant seller.  I think Lavender comes in that colour pot when it is sold in some places.  Wish I had been greedy now and just taken the lot.

Yes it is wrong to gloat and snigger when others have suffered .When slugs and snails have turned my marigolds in to paper doilys such a high level of showing off ;) is utterly sickening.Have you layed you'r pots on a bed of slug pellets ?(I'm currently typing under the influence of the sloe gin that I made last year.Really good stuff,I do believe it has inproved my spellind and diction)

Indeed Learner there are some advantages to the South Coast int there.  Well many really LOL.

No Sion I'd be too worried to use slug pellets with the dog.  Don't care if they even have pellets that are safe for him and the birds wouldn't trust them, heard too many horror stories.  And lay off the sloe gin unless you are sharing. Too many SLUGS of SLOE gin will make you type at a SNAILS pace, not improve your diction or anything else it will only leave a TRAIL of destruction. LOL

But I will say this, I put out three as an experiment and they got eaten.  They were just 3 inches high.  So I waited and put the rest out when they were about 5 inches.  Or there abouts.  I've notice they don't fuss with the bigger plants as much.  I then found an article that said more or less the same.

My OH wont allow slug bait in the back garden for fear the cat will eat it  ::) so I wont allow her to put my beautiful marigolds out there either.  :tongue2:

A couple of trays went into my parents front garden and one into ours.... all decorated with pretty blue beads (of slug bait  ;))
