Hyacinths
« on: April 14, 2014, 16:19 »
Despite gardening for three decades, this is the first year I've grown hyacinths in pots outside.  I have them elsewhere in the garden, and leave them to fend for themselves.  However, as the potted ones are now starting to die off, I wondered whether I should leave those, too, or cut them off at the bottom of the stem?

I usually cut off the finished flower low down on the stem, and then let the leaves die down naturally. If I remember  I give them a little sprinkle of Blood Fish & Bone too.
