One of my cats walked all over my seed trays a few weeks ago (before anything had emerged fortunately).  I think she would have used it as a loo had I not caught her at it!  I grow my seeds in the conservatory at the moment as the greenhouse is full of junk and needs a really good clean, not to mention new staging etc.

I had a similar thing yesterday in my raised beds - came home to find one onion on the other side of the bed and quite a few that had been snapped and they'd dug up some of my seeds.
I've managed to train my cats to stay away from my beds but unfortunatly can't do the same with everyone elses!

Mine just sleep between the rows, it's funny but i don't have any cat probs on my veggie bits.  It's like they know it's death if they touch it!

Compost lid decapitated some t'other year but they grew back and were ok when i harvested...just a tad smaller than those that hadn't been decapitated.

I have trained the dog not to dig up my veg patch, but the cat won't listen!  If the dog treads on a bit of soil, I say "oi on the path!"  And she walks along the path behind me.  Shouldn't say oi really, but it just slips out!!!!!

So ...

(1) you fill a shallow box with soil-type stuff and set in the greenhouse.  If the cat craps inside of the box, you go nuts.

(2) you fill a shallow box with soil-type stuff and set in the house.  If the cat craps outside of the box, you go nuts.

What has a poor cat gotta do to please you ???

Ahhh that's the answer then WG....mine didn't have cat litters from a very young age...they were shown the great outdoors, and rough long grass!
