Grow spuds in a barrel, used seed pots for first time this year, well known variety (can't remember which) reasonable harvest but they tasted horrible. Am I too late to plant this year, do I have to empty barrel and put new soil/compost in, what's the best variety or shall I use my own which have been chitted (is there such a word?)   :cherry:

I think you can grow them in an unheated greenhouse or cool light place (frost free). Carlingford is the variety that seems popular for spuds for Christmas.  I'd buy in fresh stock for this if I was you    Yes, chitting and chitted are proper words

Think thats the only way kate.... My dad's got 2!! Had his own and ot one with the house he's in, but will he give it to his son!! Nope (dont blaim him realy...)
