names for chickens
« on: December 14, 2012, 09:05 »
One thing I always find amusing is reading the names people come up with for their chickens.  Henrietta seems the most popular.

My girl already had the name 'Lily' (she's white) but then I moved on to 'Greta' (she want to be alone and she tap tap taps on my bl**dy window pane) but now she's 'Henny Hen' - which seems to be just right.

Would love to hear more names....
One grandma and 4 baby Pekins.

I am a country and western fan, so named my girls after female singers....Loretta, Elkie, Stella, Dolly....oh, and Fran, (no specific singer)......Dolly is one of the greediest and always has the biggest crop just before bedtime!  None of them sing, but all now suit their names, and Loretta is the only one who will actually run over when i call her name.....a bag of mealworms gets the others attention!!

My first 2 were Harriet & Henrietta. I now have a Florence and as I am probably going to get 1/2 more imminently I am trying to think of some more names!

 ours don't have names! No idea why really but just never named any of them.
Gained an allotment on the 19th June 08, 135ft by 40ft! eekk. Finally after 4 years it is looking like an allotment and not a jungle

We have 5 lovely hens in the garden, fish, 2 dogs and 2 canaries

Its was that 'Dierdre Rashid' notice that got me started :D  Symonep - they must have terms of endearment then...   of is it hen1 and hen2?

My friend names her dogs after tennis players - Roger and Venus (would rather not yell that word out in public)
