Title: Are these crab apples?
Post by: Babyshoes on September 06, 2009, 17:45
I have a tree nearby containing what I believed to be crab apples and was about to pick some for jelly making, however not being native to the UK I thought I would check on the internet first, and they look quite different to the pictures I found with google.  Are they a different variety or a different fruit?

Thanks!

They're fine.

They're Siberian crab apples - do a Google on those.

Often used as a rootstock for other apples.

Cool! Thanks for the quick reply.

Do you know if they make a decent jelly? I guess I shall pick some and find out...
