Any ideas on breed please?

Harry in the village just sent me this pic of a cockerel to identify for him.  Belongs to a friend and Harry wants to know what the chicks could be.

As the man also has several breeds of hen I think its going to be pot luck chickwise, but said I'll ask if anyone here can help ID this chap.

Looks a bit of a cross to me, perhaps bit of Welsummer?  He is too light to be a RIR. 

Any ideas gratefully received.

I would have said there was a fair bit of Welsummer in there.

I wonder if it could be a cross between Welsummer and Black Rock (RIR x Barred Plymouth Rock).  It does look a bit like Welsummer but has a heavier undercarriage.
