Hi, the same as W.O.W' but instead of orange juice use one bottle of Polish raspberry syrup (Tesco's) and one litre of red grape juice, I used 1 lb 3 ozs. of sugar,( s.g. was 1.090 and went down to o.988) and Youngs wine yeast, as you can see it went really dry but it tastes that fruity you don't notice. Hope that helps. :)

What volume is the raspberry syrup bottle please Tony?

When I make raspberry vodka, I layer raspberries and sugar in a demijohn, ferment for 6 weeks, then strain and mix with vodka.   Found 2 tubs of the fermented syrup lurking in the freezer when I defrosted it yesterday and I still have vodka left, so thinking your wine recipe might be perfect  :)

If it's the same stuff I have here, it's 440ml.

I've been meaning to try that for over a year ... which is when I bought these 2 bottles  ::)  :nowink:

Im putting a DJ of it on too. I found some RGJ under the stairs best before Aug 14th (2012) but it smells and tastes ok to me

Just waiting to see if there's any life in the last ½ packet of yeast I've got otherwise I'll be fishing the slops out of the 5 Gallons of Wow  ::)

Commendable Lardman, I've used recycled yeast in my cider making. ;)

Still at the bubble, bubble, toil and trouble stage, but looking promising  :D

Has calmed down a bit so just topped it up.  Smelling very yeasty, but can detect the rasps in there as well.

Does this become drinkable as quickly as WOW?  Not sure I want to wait too long given the rave reviews  ;)  :)

I found the red WoW style takes a little longer to drop the sharpness than the white.  I wont be hanging around waiting for mine to mature  ;)

I wont be hanging around waiting for mine to mature  ;)

Not sure I would be able to   I made rhubarb and raspberry wine one year with red grape juice and fresh rasps.  It was way too nice for its own good  ;)

Good morning, I'm looking to start making some of this raspberry syrup wine but I have a few questions?
I see that the recipes on the other page, but what is the method? How long do you leave it in the demijohn to ferment for before you bottle it? Once you've bottled it how long does it have to be left for before you can drink it?

One further question as I'm a newbie to this forum, what does W.O.W stand for?

I'm after giving this recipe ago as I've just sucessfully made some elderflower champagne and some ale for the husband. So I'm after something else to brew.

Thanks in advance
Tibster ;0)

This should explain it all.  ;)

Not a lot of point in rehashing what's already there. Just replace the orange juice with raspberry syrup and the white grape with red grape.

Hi Tibster; just had a look at my notes; the brew was in the fermenter for about 30 days before it finished all together, I left it another 14 days before bottling.
Thanks again Lardman for answering, grandkids are a bit of a distraction. ???
