Hydronium When do I take last year's flower heads off

H302+ , or maybe Hydrangea ? . If it’s the latter then l would wait until you see new growth on the stems , then take the old flowers off.

I noticed there's  new buds coming out now do I take the old flowers off now or wait to the leaves come out
