Hi, I wonder if anyone has suggestions about what I can do to help one of my hens. She has difficulty with walking and sits a lot. Her tail is down a lot but she is eating normally. Do hens get arthritis?  She is a warren and will be 4 years old about May time.  Any suggestions greatly received. Thanks Pammie

Any marks on the legs or under the foot? How is she walking now? Do they jump down from the house or have a ramp? Do they sit on the house at all during the day?
She might have landed heavily and hurt her foot/leg.

Its probably old age, 4 years is good for a Warren.

Grinling,  her legs are ok and she has not jumped, she hasnt perched for some months now, is quite delicate too.

As you say Mr Mellow it is probably her age although my other chook is still running around and quite perky (she is roughly same age).
