I'm amazed at the crop of leaves being produced by my beetroot this year (I'm sure it's all down to the protection they have now with the veggie frame in place)
 but I was wondering if it's ok to harvest and eat these leaves?

The variety is called 'Yellow cylindrical' and we grew it last year with little success but it's looking a lot more promising this year (fingers crossed).

Yes, they are edible - but don't remove them all as they are what ensures the beetroot itself keeps growing

Many thanks for reply - I'm sure it isn't an original question but it takes me forever to find anything on search as I never quite got the hang of that 

I'll be sure to just harvest a few off each plant but there are heaps of leaves ....I'm hoping this is a good sign but to be honest we didn't thin them out so maybe we have dropped a clanger
